Sperry Top-Sider is a $500M global lifestyle and performance brand known for its iconic boat shoe. The brand has experienced high growth in recent years through its footwear product line in wholesale channels, growth of its owned retail stores and E-commerce channels and expansion into apparel and accessories. As Senior Vice President of Finance, I provided a hands-on approach to fortifying the strategic and financial planning, management reporting and operational foundation to support this growth. Reporting to the president, I enhanced visibility to key operating metrics and implemented improved operating discipline with the senior team to drive margin expansion and profit optimization.Scope of responsibility included elevating the wholesale and retail finance functions and brand demand planning. I also guided the development of the retail store strategy, structure and operating controls during the infancy of the owned retail store model. Following the acquisition by Wolverine Worldwide in 2012, I acted as Brand sponsor for several integration initiatives and the SAP implementation.

Stride Rite Children's Group is a $325M global manufacturer and distributor of children's lifestyle and performance footwear brands. The portfolio of brands are distributed in wholesale channels, through the 300+ owned retail stores and E-commerce channels. During this 12 year term, I was the key partner to the brand president and CFO in formulating brand growth strategies, right sizing the retail fleet, integrating new brands and driving profit optimization. I gained valuable retail and brand management experience supporting three brand presidents. Scope of leadership included the wholesale and retail finance teams, responsible for all long range planning, budgeting, dynamic forecasting, internal controls and the close cycle. I also led the wholesale and retail demand planning teams, including the selection and implementation of new technology solutions to improve assortment planning, inventory turn and gross margin. Following the acquisition of the Stride Rite Corporation from Collective brands, I co-led post acquisition charters which identified optimal efficiencies, organizational structure and process mapping for the finance, merchandising and operations teams, retail lease administration, loss prevention and purchasing.
