Working with academic colleagues in the Social Sciences, Law School and Humanities, I identify funding opportunities for scholarly research, oversee the application and bid writing process and develop the relationships and conversations necessary to grow our research work, income and impact. I also sit on the University's Black History Year Steering Group and on the BME Network Committee.

Bass Culture is an academic research project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and led by Westminster's Black Music Research Unit. Working closely with lead partner Rinse FM, I designed and delivered a 2 year programme of activity aimed at building capacity in the emerging independent Egyptian electronic music scene - bringing together the best of Egypt's underground artists and independent industry with leading UK producers Kode9, Faze Miyake, Mumdance and Pinch. Studio collaborations, industry learning, broadcasting, events.

Escalator Music is Arts Council England, East’s talent development plan that supports and invests in the best artistic talent in the East of England. My role included advocating for, and submitting funding bids for, artists and music genres that have been historically underrepresented and under supported by ACE.

Designed and produced the Escalator Music Lab. In partnership with Aldeburgh Music at Snape and Norwich Arts Centre.

Led on fundraising, partnerships and programme development for this participatory arts project in Berwick Upon-Tweed, exploring place, memory and identity through community and collaboration. Working with artistic director and composer Dominique LeGendre, Susan Benn, founder of PAL Labs and The Maltings, Berwick.

Wrote report and managed an evaluation of the Selector, British Council’s weekly radio show (broadcasting 29 countries from Malawi to Mexico).

Lead on a 3 year large scale international music project, India Soundpad, working with colleagues in India and UK producer John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead etc.) to design a programme of studio recording sessions, events and artist development, with the aim of opening a creative dialogue between emerging alternative artists and music entrepreneurs in India and British music producers and industry.

Worked with Turner Prize winning visual artist, Chris Ofili on his ACE / Decibel funded music project with an interest in progressive artists from diverse backgrounds. Initially engaged by Chris as a member of the Icebox Think Tank.

1 year fixed term role managing and developing the Council’s global music products – primarily the Selector radio show and Antenna project (music videos from British directors). The Selector won its first Sony Award – Gold for Best Weekly Radio show – the year I was running it.

Lead the management team in running this legendary London live music venue, gallery and restaurant.

Lived and worked in New York City for over 3 years, where work included label and studio admin for Ozone Entertainment (Mike Ladd, El P, Saul Williams and more); exec produced the Tek 9 album 'Simply' for Dego, featuring Opio of Hieroglyphics, Chace Infinite of Self Scientific, Paris Clemmons and others. Hosted alternative black music radio show on NPR and wrote for music press including The Fader and BBC online. I spent a further 6 months in Denver as a volunteer for KUVO jazz radio

Worked on albums including NuYorican Soul, 4hero's Two Pages, and Roni Size Reprazent's Mercury Prize winning album New Forms.
