Position with Dr. Jean ScandlynI primarily perform data acquisition from public websites and data entry for later analysis on a project examining if and how state- and county-level public health agency websites communicate information about climate change and its health impacts to the public.

A flexible program assistant role performing a wide variety of tasks including:- Assisting in planning and execution of professional and parent education programs- Restructuring and making more user-friendly STAR's eLearning platform- Assisting in departmental budgeting- Designing marketing graphics and emails- Providing technical support to online and in-person learners

Broad communications role including:- Responding to public relations issues- Managing and contributing to organization blog- Providing testimony in legislative sessions on bills of interest to the organization- Designing marketing material- Creating and executing annual marketing plan- Creating and updating policy information pages during legislative sessions

I fulfill a wide variety of roles in this organization on both a paid and volunteer basis depending on the needs of the organization at the moment. Ongoing volunteer work includes graphic design and copywriting of marketing materials, data management, donor and community outreach, written and spoken advocacy, and policy analysis. Past and current projects include marketing and curriculum development for youth-oriented wellness leadership training, webinar and educational presentation design and narration, corporate outreach initiatives, and annual fundraising event planning.

In this position, I am responsible to coordinating and facilitating meetings and conference calls between healthcare professionals, government employees, consumers, and advocates that serve to advise the Colorado Office of Behavioral Health. This advisement is intended to shape the mental healthcare system so that it more effectively meets the needs and desires of all stakeholders. Working in this position grants me insight into the current issues in public behavioral health and places me in contact with significant figures in its overall organization.

Part-time Federal Work Study position contracted through Community College of Denver. In this position, I tutored multiple students in grades 1-3 through the school year, worked from established national literacy intervention curriculum, and maintained organization and productivity of the reading center. Each tutoring session was documented in paper and electronic files to aid in the development and execution of individualized learning plans for each student's unique academic needs. In this position, I frequently served as a liaison between volunteer tutors at the site coordinator and directed them to reading center resources as needed.
