I am a cross-sectoral community development practitioner with over 15 years’ experience in facilitation, research, design and project management. I am energised by community-driven social change and skilled in facilitating participatory processes that enable meaningful conversations and collaborations.Experienced in multi-stakeholder and community engagement, I use an adaptive approach to working with organisations and groups to build collective understanding, shared purpose and support for action; to strengthen capacity and leadership; and to mobilise resources to incubate and expand initiatives. Over my career I have led complex multinational projects and nuanced, place-based initiatives across Australia and internationally. This includes establishing collaborations with multi-lateral institutions, government bodies, non-profits, enterprises, cultural leaders, and local community groups and organisations. My curiosities and hunches have led me to undertaking PhD through Flinders University's Centre for Social Impact. My research centres on collaborative governance and the pivotal role of community voice in promoting equity and inclusion. I will actively learn alongside place-based, community-led initiatives as they establish and strengthen local governance and financial structures. This includes exploring the intersections of Western governance, bio-regional governance, and cultural governance to understand how these might enhance local responses to economic participation and community wealth building in Australia. My practice and research are guided by a deep commitment to advancing economic inclusion and community wellbeing. I support initiatives that create opportunities and enable self-determination, all while respecting and restoring local ecologies, economies, and cultures.Countries of Program/Research Experience: Albania, Armenia, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burundi, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Georgia, Kurdish Republic of Iraq, Nepal, Palestine, Peru, Philippines, Romania, and Uganda.

Phd StudentFlinders University Nov 2023 - PresentMy curiosities have led me to pursuing a Ph.D. through Flinders University's Centre for Social Impact. My research aims to investigate the potential and effectiveness of community-led systems change as a place-based approach to foster equitable progress in Australia. The central research question is: How can a community-centred approach, emphasising inclusive representation, support equitable progress and enhance the long-term sustainability of collaborative place-based change initiatives within the Australian context?Conducted in collaboration with industry partners, the project is guided by two primary objectives:• explore the role of community voice in advancing equity and inclusion through collaborative governance structures and processes.• analyse how community-controlled capital and financial structures facilitate the equitable redistribution of power and enhance the long-term sustainability of place-based change efforts. -
