Kate specializes in creating strategic plans, public-private partnerships, public policies and programs to grow tech and innovation ecosystems in cities across the United States and around the world. From New York to Sydney, Kate has advised governments, developers and businesses how to leverage technology and forge connections to create districts, workforces and economies that are ready for the future. Kate is focused on the future of work and how best to shape places, train people and deliver infrastructure to make today’s cities ready for tomorrow’s opportunities. Kate has managed many of HR&A’s most complex and impactful projects including: the “The New York City Tech Ecosystem Study” on behalf of Google, Citi, New York Tech Meet up and ABNY; New York City Economic Development Corporation’s 200-acre Sunnyside Yard Overbuild Feasibility study; MTA-Westfield’s public-private management partnership of the $1.4 billion Fulton Center; the City of Pittsburgh's bid for Amazon HQ2; New York City’s effort to expand broadband access across all five boroughs; the Brooklyn Tech Triangle and the forthcoming Western Queens Tech Strategy; the developer representation of David Beckham as he sought to build a new soccer stadium in Miami; the State of Rhode Island’s Innovation and Design District Framework; and the City University of New York’s efforts to expand the number of students working in tech ecosystem. Prior to joining HR&A, Kate served as a Director of Corporate Real Estate for Sony where she managed real estate acquisitions, dispositions and lease activity for various business groups for a portfolio that included 20 million square feet of retail, office, industrial and manufacturing. Kate earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in in Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.
