Kath Lloyd is the coordinator of the Early Childhood Music program at Griffith University's Queensland Conservatorium. Her role includes teaching Open/Young Conservatorium ECM group lessons (to children and their carers), and delivering the weekly Early Years Music sessions to the Queensland Children's Hospital school (South Brisbane). Kath has been affiliated with Kodály Australia (KMEIA) since 2000, teaching the do-re-mi early childhood music program in private studios and at various childcare centres in Brisbane. 2023 will mark the 17th year of Kath delivering this program to Margaret Cribb Early Learning childcare centre (University of QLD, St Lucia). She also offers professional development seminars and workshops to peers and childcare centre carers, and mentors graduates.Kath loves how musical engagement in group contexts supports the development of children’s emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
