I have worked at McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh since October 2003. During this time, I have performed a variety of tasks. Starting as the receptionist, then moving on to the director's office. Where one of my primary tasks was to provide administrative support for the Armed Forces Institute for Regenerative Medicine (AFIRM) (Department of Defense sponsored program) when it was awarded in 2008. Now, I work for the Officer of Scientific and Business Development currently providing administrative support for the Michigan Pittsburgh Wyss Regenerative Medicine (Dental, Oral, Craniofacial Tissue Research Consortium) Resource Center (MPWRM) (sponsored by National Institute for Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR)) that was awarded in 2017. As a Program Coordinator I was also responsible for the coordination of our weekly Pitt McGowan seminar series. And will be involved in the monthly and semi-annual series once they are undertaken.Additionally, I am the department buyer for materials that individual labs are not able to purchase on their own. All purchases are required to be proceed through the University's purchasing systems and negotiated through the University's main purchasing department.Recently, I passed my PMI Project Management Professional exam (March 2024) and have accepted a position as the Project Manager of the DARPA project in the Badylak|Hussey lab (April 2024). I'm proud of the small role I have had over the last twenty years to advance the Institute's mission of encouraging collaborations to take basic science through the translational pathway to clinical adoption.
