Formed this not-for-profit creative engine during the pandemic to amplify marginalized voices, community conversations and local makers through vibrant, neighborhood-centered, sustainable art campaigns and interactive events. Transform underutilized and vacant space in partnership with community members, small businesses, artists, real estate developers, nonprofits and local government.The Way Home, NYC, NYChallenge: RxHome, nonprofit, sought an innovative public-facing experience that built the political will to end homelessness in NYC within a tight one-month timeline (before mayoral election) and $100,000 budget from Robin Hood Foundation Grant. Served as Community and Client Facing Project Manager to determine creative content, manage expectations, ensure message accuracy and ADA / Covid compliance, manage 15 builders and makers and execute on deadlines.Result: The Way Home, and interactive installation presented in Brooklyn at Borough Hall Plaza and in Manhattan at Astor Place Plaza, welcoming thousands to explore the challenges and realities faced by people experiencing homelessness in NYC. The Art Walk, Brooklyn, NYChallenge: to co-create a compelling safe replacement for NYC’s oldest street fair, The Atlantic Antic, canceled due to COVID19. Secured meetings with Arts Gowanus, the Atlantic Avenue business Improvement District and the Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation to find solutions meeting the needs of local businesses and residents. Held open calls for neighborhood artists, executed roll gate and outdoor dining mural campaigns, installed galleries in vacant storefront windows for hundreds of local makers, learned and deployed QR technology in shop windows. Result: Largest NY open-air gallery; 1.5-mile self-guided marketplace and public art installation using QR technology in 65 storefronts and public spaces to showcase local makers, engage in community justice conversation and combat vacancy.
