    The role involved planning, writing and all production of the 2011/12 annual report. This project required collating and deciphering high level sensitive information, advice and reports from internal stakeholders and preparing the content for the organisations report in accordance with statutory reporting requirements. The publication included statistical summaries, case studies, graphically represented data and use of images which was presented to the Department heads, Director-General, The Hon Brad Hazzard MP; Minister for Planning and Infrastructure and Cabinet before being made available on the organisations website. As previous annual reports had followed different structures it was important to establish a style template for current and future reports and documents that was clear, atheistically pleasing and met all requirements. It was important that the publication be accessible to different channels and as such I was required to identify and analyse business and audience needs to deliver key Departmental messages in appropriate context and language. Using key project and time management skills, writing and my background in design I completed the project under budget and within a much shorter timeframe (10 weeks), including multiple final content and legislative changes, earning commendations from Department heads and Director-General for communication deliverables that targeted desired audiences and articulated the value of services provided by the Department.

The role included working with different business units, including all Place teams (Fairfield, Cabramatta/Canley Vale/Canley Heights, Bonnyrigg and Smithfield/Wetherill Park), Leisure Centres and Showground, government initiatives and the City Manager’s office, each which involved a specific approach and plan. All business units were required to work towards criteria outlined in the Community Strategic, Operational and Delivery Plans, which included communication, brand, events and community engagement. It was important to be adaptive and proactive to the constantly changing environment and work quickly but precisely.
