I am a highly motivated Biomedical Science Graduate with excellent research, organisational and interpersonal skills developed throughout my studies, work as an Au Pair, Private Tutor and in the Customer Service Industry.As a recent graduate I am very proud of my contributions to a scientific research project at the Genome Damage and Stability Centre, University of Sussex. Utilising an analytical approach and molecular laboratory skills my research has helped to identify interactions between key regulatory molecules in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway. The scientific paper is currently under review, however after publication this deepened understanding of the DDR pathway will direct cancer treatment improvements and thus improve patient lives.Alongside my studies I have worked in both the Customer Service industry and as a Private Tutor demonstrating my organisational skills, ability to work under pressure and integrate effectively into a team. Furthermore, I have developed leadership skills by volunteering at the student-led Language Café to run small groups of lecturers and fellow students and in support of their German-language learning.Having relocated to Hamburg, Germany for 6 months to undertake a full-time position as an Au Pair I have honed my German language skills as well as demonstrated my proficiency in supportive and caring roles. Through the responsibility of caring for an 8-year-old child with Type 1 diabetes I have first-hand experience dealing with not only the impacts of medical conditions but also the quality of care they receive on peoples’ lives. This led to my desire to utilise my laboratory research skills in a healthcare setting, particularly medical diagnostics. Through ensuring efficient and accurate diagnoses I can streamline treatment plans to ensure each patient receives high quality care.In the future I aim to become a Clinical Scientist in the NHS to have a greater impact on patient lives, therefore gaining laboratory experience in the healthcare sector would be an excellent step to achieve my goals.Please feel free to message me with any contacts or opportunities!
