About Katherine Ackerman
From the start of my working life I clearly understood two things: one, people (both employers and clients) deserve to have a better experience than they expect; and two, I could make that happen. Now? I’m looking for a remote position where I can consistently deliver beyond-expectation client care and become one of my employer’s favorite employees. The simple idea that care, attention, follow-through, and effort matter seems like a no-brainer: it isn’t. In most of my past places of employment, I haven’t been the smartest person at the job (who is?), but I’m often the one willing to help the client reach the results of those smart employees. Not to fear, I'm savvy, too. I’m a xennial. I grew up reading books, but I also attended my first coding class in 2nd grade (hey, turtle!). The result? I’m tech savvy, but I also know how to interact with people. I can talk on the phone like I care . . . because I do. I can learn almost anything. I’ve coded, built websites, analyzed data, conducted university-level research, built barns, flexed multiple content and client management systems, raised tens of thousands of dollars, and, yes, I can still stay relaxed and recognize that we can only do our best in any given day, and that everyone gets another chance tomorrow. I’m transitioning away from a very successful business, which I built on my own. I have a track record of extremely pleased employers and customers. Simply, I don’t disappoint. If I sign on for something, I know I can do it, and then I deliver better than expected. I’ve been promoted, tipped, bonused, and accoladed. In my own buisiness, I’ve raised my own hourly rate every six months and continue to be fully booked. A quick aside: I’ve already been a successful remote worker, in two different positions. I understand the benefits and effort required to keep it successful. And yes, this summary is really singing my own praises. But I love sourcing wisdom from my team, giving props to those around me, and supporting in the wings. One of my favorite things is providing foundation ideas or material that gets finessed by others. I look forward to flexing my skills for a new employer and bringing my enthusiasm and creativity to a new team--let’s chat!
