I am a student-centered, flexible, dedicated EFL professional passionate about offering high-quality instruction and continuing to develop my skills and experience. I received my CELTA in 2010 and continued my education by finishing a DELTA in 2014. I thoroughly enjoy teaching for the lively interaction I have with my students in the classroom, the ability to both work with the students and learn from them, and the opportunity to work and constantly improve my skills in a field I love.In the classroom, I focus on providing a framework of support for the students and in encouraging their active participation in student-centered lessons. Students are central to my teaching and I try to encourage their voice in as many aspects of the classroom as possible and to maintain a motivated classroom. Through my experience in teaching EFL and EAP, I have had the chance to develop strong organizational and interpersonal skills, strengthened my ability to work under pressure, and my knowledge of curriculum implementation. I have developed experience in teaching integrated skills and can confidently teach all skills. Within the classroom, the opportunity to exploit a text book, semi-authentic, and authentic materials has enabled me to have a range of experience in material selection, creation, and adaption. I have been able to present techniques for authentic material integration in the classroom to my colleagues. I have further enjoyed participating in classroom-based formative assessment and have experience in administering and assessing summative exams and was selected to be a member of an assessment benchmarking project. In future, I hope to continue my professional development and focus on developing student-centered approaches.

Upper Intermediate Speaking And Listening Skills Course Leader, InstructorKoç University Sep 2015 - Aug 2020Istanbul, TurkeyAt Koc University’s semi-integrated skills program, I taught listening into speaking, reading into writing, integrated skills, and grammar to our A1 through B2 level learners to develop learners’ EAP skills. Additionally, I am involved in materials creation, adaptation, implementation, and evaluation. I was also the course leader for advanced listening and speaking for three years, which involved extensive materials and exam creation, scheduling, materials organization, and guiding the teachers working on the course. Doing so also involved the creation and teaching of a specialty extension course for B2-C1 level learners who had passed our entrance threshold exam, but wished to further develop their EAP skills.At Koc, I was also selected to join the School of Medicine as a Communications Skills Instructor and Standardized Patient. In this role, I worked with fourth-year medical students in improving their communication skills with patients. Lastly, I worked in conjunction with the Writing Center of the univeristy with students who were applying to graduate school. Through one-on-one appointments, I guided the students in the crafting of their Statement of Purpose and Motivation Letters. Additionally, I worked with professors and post-docs to edit their publications. -
