Created high level and detailed level design and test plan documentation to migrate telephony call features from a legacy digital telephony switch (DMS-100) to the restructured VoIP network of the CS 2000 (Communication Server 2000) across VoIP/VoATM line access gateways. Verified and managed troubleshooting line services behavior across multiple network components using analytical and problem solving skills to identify issue. Worked with code owners to write software updates to fix issues, sometimes spanning multiple components. Areas of specialty include business phone features, MADN (Multiple Appearance Directory Number), call center feature ACD (Automatic Call Distribution), and residential calling features.

Performed as second-tier customer support for Meridian Digital Centrex (business-type call features) on the DMS-100 telephony switch. Interfaced directly with customers and software designers. Wrote, held code inspections, tested, and submitted fixes in call-feature related code. Performed bit-level debug into data structures on customer DMS-100 switches to fix corrupted call features and phone sets. Collected call tracing data and applied patches on live DMS-100 switches. Performed on-call duties.

Worked with a group of engineers in the Integrated Product and Process Design program to build a DSL repeater in cooperation with Paradyne Corp and the University of Florida as a senior project. Responsibilities included:• Extensively modifying existing DSL modem software such that a single microprocessor could control two transceivers and process data appropriately.• Attended frequent design meetings and conference calls.• Worked with electrical engineers in the group to debug the hardware prototype.• Wrote up detailed Technical Design Specifications as well as other design documents.

Worked in an IS role in the Materials Network Support group. Responsibilities included:• Helping maintain 12 Microsoft NT servers.• Assisting Materials Engineering employees with desktop and networking issues.• Performing regular NT server backups.• Working with outside contractor to build the Materials web page and related web applications.

Worked in an IS role in Materials Engineering organization. Responsibilities included:• Maintaining a Microsoft NT server for the department.• Converting department (about 20 people) from Macintosh to PC computers, which involved loading and configuring all the software on the computers as well as setting them up on the network.• Configuring printers and other peripherals on the network.• Assisting Materials Engineering employees to adapt to their new computer platforms and the setup of the network.
