As the Coordinator I help with assessments, placements, monitoring, materials, strategies and meetings with parents and administrators. Every QSI student has the opportunity to be successful in their learning, and students areexpected to flourish in their classrooms. However, a student whose English proficiency levelis below that commonly associated with their age may not be able to flourish in themainstream classroom. The Intensive English program is designed for these students.The goal of the Intensive English program is to facilitate an accelerated learning environmentin which students are able to acquire the English language skills in the four domains ofspeaking, listening, reading, and writing to be successful in their age-appropriate mainstreamclasses. Intensive English classes are smaller than mainstream classes to allow teachers totarget individual student needs more effectively. It is expected that Intensive English classesshould have no more than six to eight students in them. The Intensive English programallows students to be successful at school and feel confident as learners.The Intensive English program consists of two courses. Intensive English LiteracyElementary and Intensive English Literacy Pre-Secondary. Students will be placed withinthe program based on several assessments outlined in the next section. Mathematics Educator I taught 7th grade math, for Spanish Level 1. In both classes I used the use of technology with synchony and asynchrony on line classes, as well as video.

Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the language center, which includes setting, monitoring, reporting and utilizing effective and appropriate leadership with regard to the specific center budget each fiscal year. Operate LCI center in compliance according to human resources guidelines, immigration regulations and CEA accreditation standards. Promote and maintain an atmosphere conducive to a pleasant work environment for employees and a pleasant study environment for students. Be responsible for all academic matters related to ESL programs, including but not limited to program development, strategic planning, curricular updates, assessment and accreditation, student testing, placement, registration and advising. Work in conjunction with university stakeholders to develop and implement agreements and relationships with campus departments, university clubs and organizations and community businesses to market LCI programs. Develop and implement customer service and public relation/promotional activities that will result in growth at the center. Oversee the quality of instructional delivery of educational program. Coordinate all educational administrative duties: implement class procedures and policies, organize term student intake and administer and correct placement tests. Organize student lists of class levels and placements, schedule teachers/classes, schedule classrooms and prepare student grades and certificates. Substitute and teach classes as required, depending on enrollment. Hire and supervise instructional staff.

Liberty Christian Academy is a homeschool tutorial and enrichment program. Our ministry is a volunteer run organization that serves families with children in kindergarten through 12th grade. LCA's ongoing success is due in great part to the sacrificial involvement of our family membership. As a enrichment/tutorial program, we provide an atmosphere of Christ-centered teaching and learning as well as the opportunity to gain social experiences in a small group setting. Liberty Christian Academy was founded in 1995 by Georgie Hyndman.

National College of Business and Technology - Department Chair of General Education; Passed with high scores on the National Praxis Exam for Educational Leadership Administration and Supervision. Instructor for adults in General Education classes ranging from PREP Math and English to advanced Math and English. Supervision of Teachers in General Education Department, including scheduling of classes, reviewing syllabi, training in learning management system Blackboard, teacher evaluations, classroom management, professional development, and overall mentoring. National College is a private college founded in 1886 and encompasses 30 campuses in Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Indiana, and West Virginia. National College offers short term and associate degree programs one would expect to find at a medical/technical college or business school; continuing education and IT certification training; as well as several bachelor's degrees and a master degree.Additional responsibilities at the campus include, academic oversight of thecurriculum area assigned, academic advising of students, supervision of any externshipcircumstances, program promotion, and inter-curriculum coordination with other faculty assignedas program supervisors.

I have been a Host Family for the past eight years. My students have come from various countries including Korea, Japan, Germany and Saudi Arabia. Living in a homestay is one of the best ways for students to get maximum language practice, learn about American culture, and feel like a part of a big family especially if the student is at the lower to intermediate level of language ability. Being a Host Family is a rewarding experience for not only the students, but for the Host families.

Learn It Systems – Online Educator in Math and Reading for students nationally. Learn It Systems is a national educational services company with offices located throughout the country. Since 2007, Learn It has provided research-based, direct and supplemental instruction to approximately 100,000 preK-12th grade students in 100 school districts across 30 states, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Uses in Word, Excel, Web-site design, and Learning Management System - MOODLE - training and mentoring teachers. Since Katherine grew up as a third culture kid living abroad most of her life, she relates well with the international student, and loves the QSI philosophy that all students can succeed. Her passions are meeting new people from different cultures and teaching. She has seven children, all of whom have attended international schools.She holds a teaching certificate in secondary and elementary education from the State of Washington, as well as an international teaching certificate.She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in secondary education and English, and elementary education with a minor in Spanish. She received her Masters degree in Education from the graduate program in Massachusetts at Framingham State University. She has completed the praxis licensure for principal in Educational Leadership Administration and Supervision. She is (AP) audited in Literature and Language, and holds a Counseling Certificate.Katherine is excited about teaching with QSI’s mastery concept of learning. She believes that all her students can be equipped with the competencies and knowledge that results in them leading successful lives in today’s global community.

Zhongshi International School, China – MS and HS English, taught Chinese, Korean and many other foreign students. Introduced using technology in the classroom for English classes. Prepared students for IGCSE testing and IB.

Teacher, Marinas High School, CNMI, Language Arts 9-12Ms. Blann is an asset to the Marianas High School faculty. She volunteersrnany extra hours to help write, develop, and align the Language Arts curriculum,to write grants for materials needed in the classroom, and to assist with on-linecourses for students who require an altemate educational setting. She is a teamplayer, who can be relied upon to assist whenever needed - whether as anaccreditation member, class advisor, or essay contest coordinator.Created a new Honors Class for those students who had completed Advanced Placement Literature and Language or Composition. Facilitated students in the art of writing their own novels and publishing. Students also wrote movie and play scripts from the novels, and then finally produced them. Students entered an international competition with their novels and several won the competition to have their novels published.

Head Teacher with Vice Principal duties, and Elementary 6th Grade Teacher, Ladera International School, Saipan, CNMI As the new principal, I designated the main goal of the year to improve our educational standards through such areas as teacher training, setting up better systems and policies, improving testing and assessment and improving our curriculum. I could have never instituted a fraction of these goals, but with the help of Katherine, who I immediately chose as Head Teacher/V.P. we were able to institute all of these and much more. She set up week long intensive training for our teachers, created a new grading system, did a complete inventory of our books, set up a class discipline system, created the class schedule for students and teachers, and created a plan for our lunchroom. I truly think of her performance and "extraordinary" or "exceptional".Enjoyed teaching the elementary student and well as mentoring elementary teaching staff as Head Teacher. Directed various professional developments on lesson planning, using technology in the classroom, discipline, and parent-teacher interaction. Also, involved in National Geography Bee, Spelling Bee, and Forensics League.
