Report to the Dean of the Oviatt Library, serve as deputy, and assume responsibility for the Library in the Dean's absence. As part of the Library administrative team, plan Library services, facilitate operations, and resolve issues. Responsible for Access Services, which includes: Circulation and Shelving, Interlibrary Loan, Reserves, Periodicals, and Microform, Special Collections and Archives, Teacher Curriculum Center, and Music and Media. Work with instructional faculty, and Library faculty and staff to ensure that the Library can meet the research and teaching needs of the University community. Provide leadership in planning for new services, and for policy and procedural changes to existing services.

Reference and Instruction librarian, specializing in Communication Studies, Journalism, and Mass Communication; and Government Documents. Served as the Library's Assessment Coordinator and representative to the campus assessment committee. Served as Acting Chair, Reference & Instructional Services Dept., March to December 2010. Author and Project Director for the Library’s $1.6 million, U.S. Department of Education Title V, Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) program grant, 2002-2008. Previously served as subject specialist for law, California State documents, San Fernando Valley research, and French and Greek languages and literatures. Served as a part-time reference librarian, Feb. 2000-May 2001.

Reference Dept., Louise Darling Biomedical Library

Coordinated library instruction, which included instructional design, scheduling, assessment, publicity, and training. Provided reference assistance in life and health sciences and psychology, including mediated searches of specialized databases. Delivered course-integrated instruction, consultations, and end-user drop-in classes. Provided guest lectures on various topics for the UCLA Dept. of Library and Information Studies 222: Health Sciences Librarianship course. Served on the UCLA Libraries’ Instructional Services Advisory Committee and the Orion2 Training Committee.

Reference Dept., Pfau Library

Provided reference assistance and library instruction in all liberal arts subject areas. Served as Database Coordinator, which included creating training manuals and/or brief guides for searching all of the Library’s end-user databases, overseeing the mediated search service, planning for electronic classrooms, and Local Area Network implementation. Designed active learning instruction program for required lower division biology course and experimental freshman “success” seminar.

Reference And Instructional Services Dept., Oviatt Library,

Supervised Periodical Reading Room and Information Desk. Provided reference desk assistance, more than half of the time at the science reference desk (South Library). Instructed a variety of lower-division classes. Initiated and produced instructional handouts for general distribution at service points and in library instruction sessions.
