As a Senior Computational Biologist at ProdermIQ, Inc. in La Jolla, CA, I lead the development and implementation of advanced bioinformatics and machine learning pipelines to power in silico genome-scale metabolic models (GEMs) that predict the effects of ingredients on human microbiome health. Starting as an intern in June 2021 and progressing to my current role by September 2023, I have developed and maintain our current bioinformatics pipeline and lead the bioinformatics aspects of all projects to ensure robustness and reproducibility. As a graduate student researcher in the Systems Biology Research Group (SBRG) at UCSD, I focused on elucidating patterns in biological datasets using analytical and computational methods.I developed novel databases, such as proChIPdb.org, where I led the release of 271 ChIP data samples and 100 key visual dashboards, and I co-developed iModulonDB.org, a microbial transcriptional regulatory networks knowledgebase. I also processed and analyzed the Precision RNA-seq Expression Compendium for Independent Signal Extraction (PRECISE 2.0). I characterized high-density bacterial growth to optimize industrial fermentation conditions, integrating metabolic modeling, unsupervised learning, and resequencing data.

I consulted on air quality projects at Spirit Environmental, a multimedia environmental consulting firm. I maintained equipment inventory on Intelex ACTS (Asset and Compliance Tracking System), provided recordkeeping and compliance tracking services in Colorado, conducted field services, and performed RACT analyses on compressor station engines. Additionally, I conducted permitting projects, including Colorado individual and general construction permits, Texas PBRs and NRSPs, North Dakota well registrations, New Mexico Notice of Intents, and Federal Title V Operating Permits. Additional projects included air dispersion modeling for oil & gas facilities.

During my internship at Xcel Energy, I was an electrical substation analyst for over 30,000 assets owned by the largest Colorado utility provider. I developed and implemented industry-leading asset management programs using statistical programs such as JMP and Minitab, and I shared the results in data-elucidating presentations with company leaders.
