Foundation of Endodontics

This council was created in 2015 to provide insight into the needs and desires of new endodontists, and to determine the best way to communicate the Foundation’s message to residents and new practitioners. Goals for REACH are: to engage residents in activities; to learn more about their academic experiences; to effectively represent their unique perspective; to expose them to the rewards of philanthropy and to advance their educational and professional goals.

Educating and overseeing endodontic treatments in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency.

Resident in endodontics specialty dental residency. Appointed Chief Resident for 2017-2018.Expect completion of certificate of endodontics and Masters in Dentistry August 31, 2018. Clinical training and experience with non-surgical root canal therapy and surgical endodontics.Utilization of latest technology including digital operating microscope, CBCT -(Kodak Carestream), EndoVac, SonEndo. Emphasis on classic and current literature for evidence-based practice of endodontics.Graduate school courses on: management, oral medicine, conscious sedation, research, statistics, public health, teaching.

Provided comprehensive general dentistry to all ages of patients.

Advanced training in: - Oral surgery: medical management, anesthesia, routine and complex treatments, surgical extractions, third molar extractions, implant placement, conscious and IV sedation - Implants: Nobel and Straumann implant placement and restoration, socket preservation - Perio: diagnosis, soft tissue grafting, osseous surgery, bone grafting, crown lengthening - Endo: molar endo, one appt endodontics, warm vertical condensation, rotary instrumentation - Practice management: Dentrix, phosphor plate and digital sensor radiography, four-handed dentistry, hygiene exams, running two chairs at a time - Comprehensive care and complex treatment planning - Pharmacology of medications, drug interactions, and pain management - Pediatric dentistry including diagnosis, treatment planning, behavior management - Hospital dentistry: credentialed at hospital, OR cases, airway management

Four-week rural rotation providing comprehensive care services (exams, restorations, dentures, endodontics, simple and surgical extractions and alveoloplasty) to children and adults.

Student dentist on rotation providing general dentistry treatment including: fillings, exams, extractions and prevention to a wide variety of patients.
