I specialize in stories about social and economic issues facing families and caregivers. My reported op-eds cover topics like tackling anti-mom bias at work, rethinking paid leave advocacy, and solutions to the care crisis for outlets such as The NYTimes, Vox, TIME, the Guardian, and more.

During my fellowship, I researched and reported on the urgent need for news organizations to address challenges facing working mothers, along with strategies for creating family-friendly newsrooms. The project will culminate in an article for Nieman Reports in Summer 2017.I also improved my journalism skills through intensive workshops and classes on public speaking, media training, public narrative, negotiation, fiction and non-fiction writing, and podcasting.

Led a team of 7 people; focused on increasing traffic, executing a comprehensive social media strategy, and enhancing editorial products for news, blogs, video, and mobile. Also wrote regularly for Slate.

Established HuffPost Green as the leading internet news source for eco-minded readers through breaking news, original content, and aggregation, increasing traffic to the section 500% within 6 months.
