I am a masters student at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi (TAMUCC), working in identification of novel genomic markers in invasive fish species. I also work as a full time laboratory technician in The Marine Genomics Lab at TAMUCC. My background and current work is in genomics, including parentage analysis, population studies, and loci identification of multiple different marine species. I have experience writing code in R, Bash, and conda and using snakemake for workflow management.I am hoping to transfer my current skill set to a PhD position in a forensic genomics laboratory. I am interested in pursuing a project in novel genetic marker identification in the human genome/epigenome.
