Registered Nurse, Utilization Review Specialist October 2019 to Present● Provide intake, concurrent, and discharge care reviews for detox, inpatient, and outpatient levels of care using clinical judgment● Assess patients current functional level and in collaboration with the patient and clinical team, develop and monitor the care plan● Monitor care services to ensure medical necessity while providing education to the clinical team for best practice interventions● Advocate for patient centered goals and ensure treatment needs are met● Comply with established referral, pre-certification and authorization policies and document related clinical and authorization data while complying with NCQA guidelines

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to plan, manage, and assess patients experiencing acute, chronic, and behavioral health alterations in a 60-bed drug and alcohol residential/outpatient facility with a patient load ranging from 10-20 per shift- Manage and process new admissions, discharges, and transfers- Perform full physical and focused assessments, assess and monitor vital signs, changes in condition, and lab results to distinguish between normal and abnormal findings - Assess for alcohol and opioid withdrawal symptoms and utilize established detox medication protocols under the supervision of a physician- Provide education to the patient and family members about relapse prevention and mindfulness techniques to improve the general psychosocial status of the patient- Manage medication administration, subcutaneous/IM injections, oral, ophthalmic, and tympanic medications, and identify and manage specific minor illnesses and injuries- Execute other duties as prescribed by patient care plans, to include but not limited to performing ROM exercises, ADLs, and provide emotional support • Electronically document data related to patients’ care, including assessment results, interventions, medications, patients’ response, and treatment changes into iAccess• Join forces with healthcare team, family, and patient to advocate for patient needs and preferences and ensure spiritually and culturally appropriate health promotion and disease and injury prevention strategies• Perform initial intake assessments and corresponding insurance authorizations
