As the Executive Director of Pacific Opera Project (POP) since early 2023, Katherine leads the charge in development, finance, and strategic planning for their innovative and accessible opera productions. A natural Major Gifts officer, as chief fundraiser in her first year POP saw a 66% increase in individual contributions and co-authored a $135,000 capital grant for theatrical equipment. In her second year, she co-authored and secured a three-year operating grant from Perenchio Foundation, POP’s largest award to date. With a keen eye for strategic vision and fiscal management, Katherine manages a budget of c. $1M and collaborates with the board and Founding Artistic Director to craft long-term plans for the organization.Before joining POP, Katherine was the founding Director of Vocal Arts at the California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley. Over seven years, she grew the conservatory from the ground up, tripling enrollment and building partnerships with premier musical organizations such as LA Opera, The Music Center, and LA Master Chorale. She managed a team of fifteen faculty and staff, produced over forty musical productions, and advocated to support the mission.An operatic soprano, her career in arts education and performance spans roles at esteemed institutions like the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Occidental College, and California State University Los Angeles. As a teaching artist for LA Opera Connects since 2012, she has passionately shared the transformative power of opera with diverse communities.Katherine holds an Advanced Associate’s Degree in Theater from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, a B.A. in Music from UCLA, and an M.M. in Vocal Performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Her dedication to fostering community partnerships, driving organizational growth, and delivering impactful programming defines her approach as an arts leader and opera ambassador.
