Direct all aspects of Research and Development for the Company’s R&D and Pharmacogenomic laboratories to ensure efficient, accurate, high quality and timely delivery of all methods development and diagnostic testing. Oversee and establish policies and procedures to ensure all methods of practice and/or work performance conform to Regulatory guidelines, and internal quality standards. Collaborate and liaise with external academic scientists and medical centers to help reduce to practice novel methodologies for molecular characterization of tumor markers. Serve as a leader in a wide variety of inter-departmental work groups to ensure on-going discovery and product development and delivery insuring effective and efficient utilization of Company resources to contribute to the Company’s overall profitability.

Direct and manage technical development of molecular techniques for the Company’s Pharmacogenomic laboratories to ensure efficient, accurate, high quality and timely delivery of all methods development and diagnostic testing. Oversee and establish policies and procedures to ensure all methods of practice and/or work performance conform to Regulatory guidelines, and internal quality standards. Liaise with pharmaceutical company scientists and clinical trial groups for incorporating specialized molecular testing into their clinical trial programs. Collaborated with academic research centers in reducing to practice novel methodologies.

Helped run develop the analysis of molecular markers for clincial trial studies. Helped int he decision processes for determining usefulness of methodologies for molecular marker identification. Perfromed analysis of molecular markers in patient samples collected from clincal trials. Set up laboratory procedures to comply with various government regulations.

Served as a contract scientist for various applications related to molecular analyses. Designed and conducted experiments for DNA adduct analysis, enzyme kinetices of DNA polymerases alpha and gamma using nucleoside analogs which were in development as potential chemotherapeutics or anti-viral compounds. Worked with NexStar Pharmaceuticals, Gilead Pharmaceuticals and OSI Pharmaceuticals.

Research scientist in Molecular Toxicology. Studied molecular events in mouse liver tumors. Worked on the discovery of the BRCA1 gene for familial breast cancer

Worked on molecular mechanisms of toxicology. Worked on induced mutations associated with DNA adducts caused by alkylating agents.
