As a passionate English Literature graduate, I have been able to utilise my incredibly strong writing and researching skills in a wide variety of jobs. My degree required me to evaluate and assess many academic papers, studies and texts and extract the key information from these pieces of work. This disciplined approach has made me an asset in organisation and communication in both administrative and hospitality roles. In the hospitality sector I have gained invaluable experience in how to communicate effectively and consistently to maintain a good rapport with customers which I believe is an essential skill when building relationships with both clients and colleagues. Furthermore, my experience in administration has provided me with significant organisational skills, leading on delivering a variety of business support. In my current role, I have been the first point of contact for clients, should they have any questions or complaints, which I was able to effectively communicate to members of staff so that all issues were resolved and needs met. I also have experience with writing more creatively. I have written several articles for the Glasgow Guardian, my University newspaper, in which I wrote about the political situation in Hong Kong (where I lived for a number of years) and also reviewed new releases in Film and Television.
