Responsible for the planning, training, evaluation and assessment of the diabetes education multi-site program for Parkland Health & Hospital System ambulatory services to ensure a quality health education program that is recognized by the American Diabetes Association.

Provide direct patient care in the inpatient and outpatient settings, offering outpatient diabetes education as well as medical nutrition therapy to pediatric endocrinology outpatients (and inpatient pediatrics while serving as pediatric inpatient on-call dietitian), supervise registered dietitians in 16 ambulatory care settings on campus, precept 11 dietetic interns annually, actively conducted IRB approved research Expertise: pediatrics, pediatric diabetes management, food allergies (EAL certified 2011)

Deliver MNT to adult and pediatric inpatients while maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction. Create innovate care plans that implement parenteral/enteral nutrition, education, and interdisciplinary needs as appropriate. Manage one full-time and one part-time dietitian, dietary staff, enteral feeding stock, and hospital policy cost-effectively.Achievements: Significantly revised PPN and TPN standing order set to include ASPEN guidelines ('08) Reduced false nutrition screens by 10% with implementation of new screening policy ('07)
