I am an aspiring professional educator who desires to work with elementary-aged students in order to instill in them a love of learning that will set the foundation for them to thrive throughout the rest of their academic journey. I am passionate about building relationships with the children I work with so that I can help them discover and cultivate their potential in all areas of life, as well as give them the space to grow in weaker areas. I am someone who sees great value in a holistic education approach, and I desire to teach in a way that allows students to not just learn information but to also develop their character and acquire self-awareness. I have had several opportunities throughout my college education courses to plan and teach lessons that are engaging and allow for deeper levels of thinking beyond mere memorization of facts, which has been vital in the development of my overall beliefs about teaching and learning. I hope to be a part of a school community that greatly values this philosophy of learning and allows me to engage with students in a way that is truly meaningful and life-giving in order to maximize my potential to make an impact.Some of my notable skills are: lesson planning, organization, teaching, interpersonal communication, differentiation, online teaching, building relationships, student engagement, and behavior management.
