Katherine DeFoyd, founding partner of Growth for Good & Search for Good; has more than 25 years experience as a fundraising and nonprofit executive. She has been involved with every facet of nonprofit management, strategic and business planning, fundraising. She has led clients successfully through strategic planning processes, capital campaigns and annual campaigns, and has vast experience in developing and managing public/private partnerships. Katherine has assisted dozens of New York City-based non-profits secure more than $150 million in funding since 1999. Before founding Growth for Good, Katherine worked as development director for The Armory Foundation, MOUSE Inc. and The Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service (NYU), and The Bertelsmann Foundation. Katherine began her career at the Mayor's Office of Business Development, under Mayor Edward I. Koch. She helped found the Mayor's Office of Public/Private Partnerships under Mayor David N. Dinkins. She also worked for Borough President Ruth Messinger as Director of Events and Outreach. She is a former member of the board of directors of Harlem RBI (now We Are Dream) and served on the nonprofit’s capital campaign committee. Katherine has a BA in Economics from San Francisco State University and a Masters of Public Administration from the Wagner School of Public Service at NYU. Katherine is a frequent speaker at conferences and workshops. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). She is the author of four cookbooks, one of which won the James Beard Award in 1998. She lives with her husband in Maplewood, New Jersey.
