Katherine has over twenty years of experience with contemporary art in Asia as an independent curator and arts professional promoting cross-cultural exchange between artists and patrons across the Pacific. She has previously worked for contemporary art galleries in New York, established an independent advisory firm in Beijing, and directed the gallery program for Asia Society Hong Kong, as well as led the non-profit Hawai’i Contemporary to launch an internationally acclaimed Triennial. For more than six years with Sotheby’s Asia, she worked as Head of Contemporary Ink Art and was a key contributor in establishing the strategy for the Contemporary Ink Art category and sales in New York and Hong Kong. Before joining the international auction house, Katherine was a private art advisor based in Beijing building collections of contemporary Asian art for clients in China, US and UK.Katherine is a native of Maui, Hawaii and holds a dual-degree in Art History (Visuals Arts) and East Asian Studies from Barnard College, Columbia University, and received an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
