OSAT has given me multiple opportunities to work hands-on with data. My first experience was with our annual sports data analytics case competition in which we were tasked with "unmasking the most overrated" player. I collaborated with 4 team members to create a detailed analysis and presentation on statistically proving the most overrated player in NCAA Football (Tim Tebow). This involved pulling raw data from football databases, combining them into a single spreadsheet, creating and running analytical metrics on the data, analyzing the findings and determining our conclusions, and finally creating a presentation outlining our findings and conclusions. Because of my strong communication skills, I stepped up to coach our group through presenting persuasively. Our work earned us 2nd place overall and the special award for "Best Communication Skills". I competed in a SQL tournament ("SQL at Sea") and placed 2nd overall. Additionally, I collaborated with 4 teammates on an NFL consulting project in which we statistically analyzed the draft potential of Javontae-Jean Baptiste. He was drafted in the 7th round by the Washington Commanders and sacked Joe Burrow in Week 3 of his rookie season.I have served on the OSAT executive board as Director of Recruitment. I collaborate with the other executive members weekly to plan meetings, workshops (like my resume workshop), networking trips, and overall club strategy. My recruitment responsibilities have involved: executing over 20 recruitment events from involvement fairs to classroom recruitment visits, creating all recruitment materials, directing my committee, and managing new member orientation. I have gathered over 250 signups and over 60 returning members. I am most passionate about providing opportunities for women to get involved in the sports world and making them feel included and valued in our community.

Election days begin at 5:30am to setup the voting location and prepare for opening at 6:30am. I am required to have extensive knowledge over the voting process and have worked in various roles within the polling location. I have checked voters in, verified their information on the electronic pollbooks, provided accessible voting services, administered voting materials, and guided voters through the voting process. I tend to specialize in explaining the voting process due to my strong customer service and communication skills, as well as troubleshooting the electronic voting machines due to my knowledge of technology.

I began filming in the spring of 2024 with no prior experience in football or videography/photography. In the spring, this role involved filming practices from 7-10:30am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I quickly learned how to use the camera equipment and was responsible for its handling and transportation during practice. I loved the challenge of constantly working to improve my film, and agreed to return for Fall Camp. I greatly enjoyed this opportunity as it continually challenged my videography abilities and developed my knowledge of football play and terminology. I continued filming into the fall semester, which involves filming 3 hour practices 5 days a week, as well as filming all home and away games. I learned to be flexible and adaptable to take on any work that needed completing while traveling, as well as developing very strong time management skills to fit practice and travel into my busy schedule. I developed strong communication skills to quickly relay information to the sideline filmers, as well as inventory management and teamwork skills through handling and transporting large amounts of film equipment alongside my fellow filmers. My knowledge of football has been elevated greatly since joining the film team - now I know Nickelback refers to more than just the band. Filming has become a favorite hobby of mine, and I am so grateful to be part of the team!

During my time with SAB, I assisted with the organization and execution of multiple high-turnout university-sponsored events, such as Yell Like Hell and Pack the Pantry. I served on the Finance committee, which assisted with tracking club spending and planning fundraisers. I also was a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, which focused on creating an inclusive club environment through training, workshops, and events.

In this role, I conducted market research to determine optimal brand image for the team and implemented it through merchandising. This resulted in 7 jersey sales and 16 hat sales, creating $227 in revenue.

In this role, I assisted the analytics team with turning in-game events (such as shots on goal, zone exits/entries, etc.) into quantitative data. I learned how to use the Athletic Performance software used by the analytics team, watch film to find in-game events, and record them accurately in the system. I meticulously scoured game footage for hundreds of split-second moments, which required devotion and strong attention to detail. I patiently reviewed footage until I could confidently record the result. Additionally, I assisted the analytics team in converting quantitative data into actionable strategy and team performance measurements. This was an exciting and challenging role that allowed me to not only work hands-on creating and analyzing data, but also learn more about the intricacies of hockey play.
