I've been working in academic publishing since 2009. Started as Assistant Editor dealing with manuscript peer review, copyediting and typesetting, I now act as Managing Editor of several journals. My sense of this job upgrades as years pass by. To me, it is not a job simply dealing with spellings and layouts any more, not the so-called wedding dress makers any more. Being an editor is more like being a product manager who need to know about the product, that is the journal and its derived products such as databases, business cooperations, who need to know about your users, that are the authors, readers, reviewers, editorial team members. Journal is not a simple reservoir of information either, it is a scientific community, which need us, the editors to run, to facilitate and to disseminate. During the way, I met and interviewed hundreds and thousands of scholars, who are learned, refined, never stop pursuing truth and seeking for innovation. Such experience paves the way for me to be a better person and I am grateful to the chances.
