As Senior Manager, Global Scientific Communications, I provide strategic direction for internal and external global medical communications deliverables to advance Seagen's Medical Affairs objectives. I drive overall publication strategy, lead scientific messaging, facilitate creation of scientific content, and oversee development of scientific exchange resources to ensure communication activities are aligned to global medical strategy, particularly focused on Seagen's early pipeline programs.

In this role, I worked with a variety of clients focused on global health and scientific research, helping lead strategic business development to design and deliver cross-channel communications strategies.

In this role, I served as a key member of IHME's Senior Management Team, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer and providing strategic thought leadership for IHME and my team, the Global Improvement Group. I set the strategy and editorial calendar for IHME’s overall campaigns, leading a team of content creators, designers, and editors to manage all external marketing and communications, including PR and media outreach, social media, video production, events management, and website content creation and management. I managed IHME's brand and plan campaigns and content, working with internal staff and external agencies. I also represented IHME externally with key partners and stakeholders and participated in fundraising and advancement activities. My role also included a significant internal communications component: executive communications, institute-wide comms strategy, and employee engagement opportunities.

Greater Seattle Area

As Assistant Director, Scientific Communications, I oversaw planning and production of scientific publications, including management and writing of scientific papers and management of the scientific review process by the 5,000-person Global Burden of Disease collaborator network and journals’ peer reviewers, as well as marketing and promotion for these papers. In 3 years, I built the team to 30+ from 2 initial employees. In this role, I also led our internal communications strategy, including creating a bi-weekly newsletter and communications campaigns to 475 employees.

Greater Seattle Area

As Scientific Communications Manager, I led a team of 2 scientific writers to create an innovative approach to scientific publication, helping IHME achieve greater impact and wider dissemination by publishing papers in the most prestigious scientific journals. I launched and managed high-impact programs, including the Roux Prize, IHME’s $100K annual award to recognize decision-makers using evidence to improve population health. I created and led the Roux Prize nomination and selection process and managed all content creation, marketing, collateral production, and event planning; success in the first years of the prize resulted in a doubling of funding commitment from $1M to $2M.

As Communications Officer, I wrote, edited, and proofread publications, including scientific journal articles, policy reports, corporate materials, and material for IHME’s website and newsletter. I also served as Managing Editor of a peer-reviewed journal run by IHME, gaining expertise in scientific publications and publishing, organization, and process development.

I led writing and project management to develop training materials for pharmaceutical companies.
