The Managed Care Rotational Program is designed to allow associates the opportunity to work on relevant, impactful projects; serve as internal consultants on strategy and process in order to improve operational efficiency; meet regularly with senior management; and develop key presentation skills to report findings and outcomes.Example projects: Value Based Insurance Design•Managed Pennsylvania’s application to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' pilot for Value Based Insurance Design, potentially impacting 12,000 customer lives in year one.•Established strategy for benefit design, determined operational policies and procedures necessary to ensure successful implementation, and composed the application.Clinical Programs and Health Services•Conducted a Request for Proposal with Cigna Supply Chain Management (SCM). Identified the most appropriate of 7 vendors for Community Health Worker Program.•Executed initial contract negotiations, along with Cigna SCM, for a medication management pilot program valued at $90,000 with a medical technology adherence company.Stars and Market Level Initiatives•Facilitated non-participating lab chase initiative to retrieve 29.31% of the needed values to reach 3 stars for the MAPA market for diabetic A1C values for gap closure.•Streamlined inefficiencies in the planning and execution of preventative care/wellness events, Cigna-HealthSpring Days, through resource and communication plan creation.•Developed orientation program to aid talent strategy by engaging and educating new hires.Operating Effectiveness•Created capacity plans for Provider Data Management (PDM) team to ensure adequate staffing and improve leadership’s understanding of team bandwidth.•Assessed inefficiencies in current structure of Coding Quality Audit reports to identify improvement opportunities to help visualize productivity trends.

Traveled to Portugal and interacted with government officials, notable executives and scholars in order to gain insight into the country's economic situation, prominent industries, government systems and culture. Published a research article entitled "Enhancement of Research and Development in Portugal: Stimulation for Innovation and the Economy" in the Lehigh University annual publication of "Perspectives on Business and Economics", volume 33.

Under Dr. Yevgeny Berdichevsky, a professor at Lehigh University, I worked on a study developing an optimized and effective antiepileptogenic treatment for people who have experienced severe head trauma. My responsibilities required the use of animal testing, protein purification, BCA Assay, Western Blot analysis, and Fiji Image J data analysis.

Attended leadership training sessions bi-weekly to develop skills in facilitation, public speaking, working with people from different backgrounds, management, professionalism to prepare for First year student orientation. Will lead groups of approximately 20 first year students through Lehigh’s renown orientation program.

The Biosystems Dynamics Summer Institute program, a highly-selective HHMI-sponsored summer internship program at Lehigh University, in collaboration with Lehigh University's Mountaintop Experience, enabled my participation as an undergraduate researcher on the project "Conservation study of Cyprinodon bovinus".For this project, I worked in a team with students from other disciplines on a joint research project. In particular, we developed an experimental approach for the conservation of a highly endangered desert pupfish by constructing a model ecosystems inhabited by a closely-related non-endangered species. By altering different aspects of the ecosystem, we were able to gain a better understanding of the species’ behaviors to help with conservation efforts, as well as acquire skills in molecular genetics, including microsatellite fragment analysis, by completing parentage analysis.
