Education Camps

I've volunteered for four summer seasons and one fall season at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. In the summer of 2014, I was a junior volunteer in the hospitality department at the Aquarium's second location, Winter's Dolphin Tale Adventure. In this job, I partook in supervising the touch tank as well as operating the hurricane experience walkthrough. I also gave presentations to guests about Winter and her story.In the summers of 2015, 2016, and 2017, I volunteered as an education camp counselor where I helped with a myriad of tasks such as supervising children both in the classroom and on the water, cleaning and setting up the classrooms after each day, assisting the camp teachers in any duties where they needed assistance, and helping to teach some lesson plans. I was even able to help write some camp curriculum for the spring break 2016 camp. In the fall of 2015, I volunteered in the Education department on the Sea Life Safari tour boats where I partook in net pulls, collecting data of the specimen caught that would later be used by the FWC for their research, and helping to educate guests on the marine specimen in Clearwater Bay. As part of the Education Department, I also assisted with stingray feedings where I helped guests to feed our resident rays.
