ABOUT ME My name is Katherine Rigg. I am a hardworking individual currently studying full-time at Deakin university whilst working a part-time job. I have a high work ethic in all aspects of my life including study and work. I believe that I am resilient with any task I face. I aspire to never give up on something no matter what challenges arise. I love learning and experiencing new things in life. I am kind, caring and always trying to help the people around me. MY GOALS I am passionate about equal opportunities for all people. I am studying a major in International Relations so that I can be a support to my community. My major goal is to work within the industry of immigration to help refugees and asylum seekers find refuge and assimilate within the community and to be successful within my work field. I am confident that I will achieve these goals as I am a focused, hardworking individual that is inspired to make a difference within my community and around the world for those who have suffered and experienced great traumas. My goal for the near future is to volunteer at various organisations whilst studying to build my experience and help my community. SKILLS So far in my career, I have gained a range of experiences in customer service roles. This has allowed me to increase my communication skills with a variety of different people. These communication skills will benefit me in my future career within the industry of immigration as communication is one of the foundations that are most important in all aspects of work. I am highly skilled in problem-solving issues which may arise in life and in work environments. It is important to be able to resolve an issue in a calm and productive manner that will result in the best possible outcome, which I have achieved in many aspects of my life. Although I have not yet gained experience within this field of work, I believe that the skills that I have formed from previous employment and the knowledge I have gained from my degree will help me succeed in my future career. IMPACTI believe by completing my bachelor's degree and aspiring to work within my field of choice, that I can make a difference in people's lives. It is important to help those that are less fortunate and have experienced difficulties that are out of their control. Providing people with equal opportunities for a safe, secure and peaceful life, is the impact that I intended to achieve in my career.
