This position is very familiar with child welfare, leadership, legal systems, and supporting professional development. An AmeriCorps VISTA is expected to be self-motivated, identify pieces needed for project sustainability, volunteer position description or employee position description, financial sustainability, working well with the team at the host site, and communication. Upon first week of hire at the host site, a gap was seen for the Service Enterprise project, there wasn’t a standard operating procedures book for new staff, or an onboarding checklist for an easy transition to the project. These were completed upon departure of the host site.
