About Katherine Scalzo
Currently a Research Assistant in data acquisition in the Physiology of Walking & Engineering Rehabilitation (PoWER) Lab with Boys Town National Research Hospital’s Institute for Human Neuroscience. Under the direction of Dr. Max Kurz, my role involves working primarily with individuals with cerebral palsy from participant recruitment to data collection for research projects exploring connections between movement and the brain.Generally, I have a passion for research and scientific communication.I hope to put my interdisciplinary education to use in academia studying topics at the intersection of psychology and biology. I have an interest in specializing in exercise psychophysiology and neuroscience, including the reciprocal relationship between physical activity and mental well-being as well as concussions, TBI, and CTE. I also recognize the importance of making science accessible and understandable to the general public and hope to incorporate this into graduate studies and a future career.
