Lead a summer STEM camp in collaboration with Caltech's Center for Teaching, Learning, and Outreach and Pasadena Educational Foundation on topics relating to biology, physics, chemistry, and engineering. Design and facilitate hands-on activities in areas such as coding, robotics, and engineering, fostering creativity and critical thinking. Encourage teamwork and problem-solving through collaborative projects while creating a fun and supportive learning environment.

Designed and executed a social media campaign for the Caltech hackathon, boosting visibility and engagement. Managed outreach to universities and student organizations to increase sign-ups. Created all promotional materials, including flyers and social media content, ensuring consistent messaging and high participant turnout.

Working with peer, Jessie Zhou, and advisor, Dr. Watkins, I am modernizing an earlier publication of the Percutaneous In Situ Coronary Bypass from 2001. Through researching alternative methods, designing a prototype, and experimenting with animals I am working to develop a modernized procedure and catheter.

Admitted on a full scholarship: This summer internship exposed me to basic and advanced cardiothoracic surgery and technical skills (e.g., knot tying, dissection, suturing, coronary artery bypass graft, and cardiac valve replacement). I performed these skills through immersive training devices to familiarize myself with these techniques. From discussions with Stanford and Harvard faculty, I learned how to integrate medical service projects in my community as well as write medical editorials on current topics. Through the weeks, I collaborated with my peers to propose a minimally invasive coronary bypass procedure to make a long lasting solution to coronary artery disease, revolutionizing the way we think about rerouting the heart.

Wrote a research article and presentation on STEM cell tissue regenerative medicine with a focus on cardiac tissue, its applications, and future implications.

Host annual week-long science camps for elementary students to explore chemistry, biology, and physics, promoting interest in STEM careers. Previously partnered with the South Pasadena Educational Foundation, now collaborating with the Pasadena Educational Foundation

Learning the fundamental programming for Python and applications of artificial intelligence. Going on to program a project in the healthcare field to apply AI to a relevant problem. Produced a program to detect pneumonia in x-ray scans with a 90.8% accuracy rate.
