As Head of ERM - Assistant Vice President (AVP), handling the following Enteprise Risk Management functions:- Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP)- Stress Testing- Basel 3 Implementation- Risk Appetite Setting- Bank-wide Risk Assessment Process- Key Risk Indicator setting and monitoring- Development of Key Risk Frameworks and Policies- Risk Weighted Asset Forecasting- Risk Optimization- Risk Based Pricing Implementation- Risk Modeling- Regulatory requirements on Risk Management- Risk Advisory function (e.g. IFRS 139, IAS 9)

- Assist the team in sustaining a proactive Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) culture by:• Conducting ERM Awareness Sessions to various process owners to embed risk management in the organization. Activities include the development of presentation materials, actual conduct of sessions, particularly topics on risk management principles and risk management tools, and coordination with different business units.• Providing ERM and Insurance related articles to the different Risk Management Committees• Regular sending of company email blast regarding ERM principles, quotes and experiences from the process-owners-Development and regular monitoring of various Risk Management Tools:•Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) – The responsibility includes the conduct of RCSA workshops and review of business units’ output•Risk Events Capture Analysis Process (RECAP) – Tracking and monitoring of risk events to prevent recurrence in the future. •Risk Libraries – Update and monitor the risk universe or laundry list of the company’s past and current risks.• Key Risk Indicator (KRI) Dashboard – Assisted in setting-up and enhancement of the KRI Dashboard. Monthly report is also being developed in coordination with the different process owners to track the performance of the company. KRIs tracked includes Value of New Business (VoNB), Annualized Premium (ANP), Persistency trends, product and fund performances and other Financial, Strategic, Operational and Insurance related indicators.- Assist the ERM team during various risk committee meetings [Board Risk Committee (BRC), Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC), Operational Risk Management Committee (ORMC), Product Risk Management Committee (PRMC) and Asset-Liability Management Committee (ALMC)]. - Setting-up of ERM structure in the company’s affiliatesKatherine is responsible for assisting the Risk Head in establishing the ERM structure in the affiliates (Mutual Fund Company, Bancassurance and Property Management).

Development of an Integrated Results and Risk-based Audit approach for the Commission on Audit (COA) - Philippines’ Supreme Audit InstitutionKatherine has been involved in a project funded by World Bank to the Commission on Audit (Philippine’s Supreme Audit Institution) to develop an integrated audit approach and methodology on the institution’s different audit services namely: Financial and Compliance Audit, Agency-based Value-for-money Audit, Government-wide and Sectoral Performance Audit and Fraud Audit. The developed audit approach and methodology will be used by COA in auditing government agencies, including government financial institutions and government owned and controlled corporations. Transformation to Risk-Based AuditKatherine has been involved in advisory services for some of the Top Banks in the Philippines related to the transformation of a traditional internal audit system into risk-based, process-focused system. Corporate Compliance Advisory ServicesKatherine has also been engaged in conducting Corporate Compliance Advisory Services for a government financial institution which is also one of the Top Banks in the Philippines. Risk RemediationKatherine has been involved in a risk remediation project for the Controllership Group of SGV & Co. (Ernst & Young Philippines). The objective of the project is to identify risk issues and to recommend improvements to processes and controls. Other Advisory Projects - Study on Enhancing Institutional Framework for Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) - Public-Private-Partnerships (PPPs) in Infrastructure Development of the PhilippinesKatherine assisted in a Study on enhancing the Institutional Framework for BOT-PPP process in the Philippines. The objective of the study is to assess the Institutional Capacity of the Philippines with regard to BOT-PPP process and likewise, to give recommendations on how the process would be enhanced through benchmarking, surveys and workshops among others.
