I continue to provide the same level and quality of work that I was when working full-time, just on a shortened number of hours - balancing work with small children is a juggle! I've also added to my responsibilities the development of additional products and services as we look to expand to other professions that require licensure.

Genetic Counseling is a small but growing field. I help Genetic Counselors increase their ability to reach patients by helping them obtain multistate licensure. Currently 33 states require Genetic Counselors to be licensed, and each state has their own arduous and painstaking process. I do it all. From filing out the initial application, obtaining verifications of the Genetic Counselors education and other state licenses, following up with the state, to the final issued license. As one member of a 4 person start-up, I also help in the product development and with documenting and streamlining our processes to improve customer satisfaction.

FamilySearch contracts with record custodians such as archives, libraries, and individuals, in the United States and around the world to digitize their public records; this allows for people to have access to images of records and information through FamilySearch.org. I managed projects and contracts for the North America and Asia continents; this required me to became proficient in understanding cultural records and the types of laws that would dictate use of such records. I interfaced between the local law firm and the on-the-ground field teams to procure documents and contracts for the collection and publishing of vast numbers of records from these areas of the world. I developed new processes to convert contract information and data privacy law information from around the world, into computer digestible formats as FamilySearch transitions to a brand new, more integrated computer program. This included reading recent to decades-old memos and legal documents to extract the relevant information that should be used to dictate proper use of information online. I also assisted in the hiring and training of new employees; this included the writing, editing, and the organizational development of training documents to streamline our processes and improve workflow.

As a member of the FamilySearch Legal Team, I assisted in managing contracts from around the world so that people could have access to images and information on FamilySearch.org. I also helped by creatively streamlining our current processes to be more organized, effective and flexible to future changes happening in our industry.

Tutored students for the Introduction to Law course (PolSc 280) and Advocacy and Policy (FAML 460). Encouraged students to develop academic maturity. Taught students study skills and assisted them in understanding concepts from the applicable courses. Graded papers, assignments, and provided direct feedback to Professor(s) on the progress of particular students.

My main role was to help meet the unique needs and demands of the President of the School's wife and family. I worked with their children to help them learn how to develop age-appropriate behavioral skills. I tutored the children in their school work; spelling, reading, math. I also assisted in household tasks and errands, including attending special events to be with the children as she fulfilled her role as the Wife of the President.
