Kathi is passionate about saving the lives of unaccompanied homeless women. She has headed the WISEPlace shelter for women for almost two decades. In that time, the "Steps to Independence" program has focused on moving women from homelessness and helplessness to contributing members of the community. The women who got their life back as a result of the WISEPlace program are a testimony to the power that is unleashed when women gain or regain their dignity, believe in themselves and begin living from a position of strength and self-reliance. Former residents are now donors, volunteers and chief advocates for the program that devotes its time and resources to giving unaccompanied homeless women a sense of belonging.Prior to non-profit management, Kathi worked in the corporate world in various marketing management positions. She started her corporate career in electronic data processing as a programmer and systems analyst.Kathi also devotes time in a leadership capacity at Second Baptist Church of Santa Ana, in the Kiwanis Club of Santa Ana, on the Community Advisory Board of PBS SoCal, and the Susan G. Komen Circle of Promise among other volunteer endeavors. She believes that to whom much is given, much is expected and that in fact, you cannot beat God giving! Kathi views herself as and strives to be a Servant Leader.
