I write for Northern Colorado publications on topics such as families, education, growth, recreation and business. I am an award-winning journalist who enjoys writing features and personality profiles as well as in-depth news articles.

Coordinated original and secondary content to promote passes of Ballot Issue No. 1, a sales tax extension. The issue pass with more than a 70 percent approval rate - one of the highest voter approval rates ever for a tax issue in Fort Collins.

Led the editorial board in developing timely editorials on community, state and national topics. Interviewed political candidates ranging from office of president to school board. Also worked as a section editor, overseeing and creating the Causes nonprofit section, the Food section and Health sections. At the same time, served as the Windsor Beacon editor. The community newspaper published twice weekly with an emphasis on local news. These positions required a keen sense of understanding readership metrics as well as timely posts to social media platforms and websites.

I chaired the Coloradoan newspaper editorial board, which includes the executive editor and publisher and two community members. We develop the daily editorials for the Coloradoan. Additionally, I supervise two local reporters, edit local copy and post online breaking news and information to www.coloradoan.com. I am intensely interested in the community in which I work, live and volunteer.

I provide creative resources for nonprofits, organizations and small businesses seeking to expand their civic and commercial reach. I emphasize building relationships within communities to develop a long-term and sustainable profile.
