Current• Multi-year experience in forensic DNA analysis and serology testing for blood, semen, saliva, urine, and feces. Proficient in the following: - Manual organic and paramagnetic nucleic acid extraction - Tecan liquid handlers - qPCR via 7500 Real-Time PCR system - PCR via 9700 & ProFlex thermal cyclers - Capillary electrophoresis via 3130xl & 3500xl - Data interpretation via GeneMapper™ ID-X - Quantifiler™ Duo & Trio DNA Quantification Kits - GlobalFiler™ & AmpFLSTR™ Identifiler™ Plus PCR amplification kits - Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)• Extensive experience in a high throughput laboratory due to primary job of manual organic DNA extraction, qPCR quantitation, PCR amplification, and capillary electrophoresis. Manually extract 24 samples in a batch, extract multiple batches per week, and quantitate, amplify, and separate up to 80 samples at a time via Tecan liquid handlers. • Demonstrates continual desire to learn and aptitude by being 1 of 5 workers that over time has become proficient in every step of the autosomal DNA analysis process• Capitalizes on being detail oriented by completing ANAB internal auditor training and participating in internal audits using ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and AR 3125 • Willing to help where ever needed and be a team player. Demonstrated by becoming the interim lab technician for two years where valuable skills were acquired, such as contacting vendors, creating purchase orders, ordering and receiving supplies, reagent preparation, inventory, hazardous waste collection, assisting in internal and external audits, and implementing quality assurance and quality control guidelines. • Able to break down complex scientific conclusions when testifying in trial as an expert witness• Has been rated as exceeding expectations in teamwork and cooperation for the past 4 years in annual performance reviews
