Although retired on an amazingly lovely paradise island in the Pacific Northwest, I believe in remaining active, utilizing my abilities to improve the health of human relationships with other humans and their undeniable connections with the environment. The Salish Sea environment is rich with life from sea, air and land. All actions affect continuity of life on the microscopic scale and can, for example, be seen on a giant crab covered in a disintegrating plastic bag or seen in a man-constructed bulwark built to protect a private beach, but ultimately causing severe damage to the entire ecosystem of that beach. Education, planning and resolution is on an individual level.Having been an educator, a social worker, a manager, a published author and an active animal and environmentalist for several decades in the US and in Asia, I continue to meld and offer the benefit of the skills and experiences I've amassed. My purpose is creating peace and harmony in interactions with our neighbors, including those neighbors living in our seas, land and air.

Owner/OperatorC.A.T. - Cultural Adventure Trek Apr 1990 - Aug 1993Tokyo, JapanWhile living in Tokyo consulting and teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) - as well as cultural mores and customs in other countries - to those Japanese companies conducting business in other countries or interacting in other ways on a global level, I saw the need for young Japanese adults (especially women) to have real experiences in other countries with other non-English speaking people from different cultures. I felt it imperative to counteract and disprove the stereotypes ingrained in these young adults and let them experience and discover the realities through supervised trekking. This was done through taking a group of 6 Japanese college women to 'home-stay' in the U.S. with my family and friends, practicing English while immersing in the local culture of Texas and Mexico. Another group joined me in supervised trekking and exploring in Thailand while interacting with the locals and European trekkers utilizing English as the common language.
