I am an Assistant Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience in the Department of Psychology at West Virginia University. Using stress as one of the common factors precipitating neuropsychiatric disease symptoms, I have developed a research career focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of experience-dependent resilience and vulnerability to stress, and how sex, developmental stage, and type of experience shape an individual's trajectory. I am currently examining the role that periods of dynamic hormonal change play in susceptibility to stress.
