Leads a cross-functional team to deliver the annual Corporate Alignment Planning (CAP) process for BHP’s Olympic Dam operation; Governs the planning process, ensuring a balanced planning approach to deliver optimum outcome across all components of the value chain and a spectrum of Asset and Group stakeholders. Develops and implements appropriate governance processes to validate plan inputs/assumptions, mine planning and valuation outputs, study findings, capital prioritisation outcomes, etc. Integrates functional inputs with operational plans including workforce strategy, non-process infrastructure planning, mine closure planning, land access and approvals, supply chain design and technology plans to deliver a comprehensive business plan that is robust and executable. Directly supports Asset Leadership Team in annual asset appraisal with BHP Chief Executive Officer.

Assumed a lead role in a regional process standardisation project, accountable for embedding a business-wide compliance-to-plan review process across sixteen operations and development of an integrated reporting interface for visualising performance against plan. Responsible for delivery of a coal quality compliance tool, visualising key drivers of value for coking and thermal coal products. The project effectively deployed “Design Thinking” project management methodology, modelling a software development approach to deliver an organisational change program which was customer focused and based on rapid, incremental improvement.

Served in a specialist support and advisory role to the VP Planning and Technical (P&T) and P&T Leadership Team. Functional scope includes geoscience, mine planning, land access, strategy and directional studies activities which support BHP Billiton assets in West Australian Iron Ore, Olympic Dam, Queensland Metallurgical Coal and New South Wales Energy Coal. My role ensures leadership team effectiveness in (1) impeccable service delivery to the assets (2) replication of best practice across the function and (3) driving an agile, commercially sharp and value-focused team culture aligned to the values of mutual respect, inclusion and integrity.

Initially intended to be a 12-month rotation in the Iron Ore Resource Estimation group, this placement was cut short due to a subsequent job-offer. Activities include application of geostatistics to estimate grade, density and other key parameters into 3-D block models to inform the mine plan and mineral inventory. Software: Vulcan, Isatis

Seconded to the Exploration Planning and Strategy team in April 2016, work involves detailed technical planning of drilling campaigns for complex sustaining projects relevant to a large number of stakeholders whose inputs are synthesised into a coherent execution plan. Responsible for all short-term to medium-term QAQC processes within BHP Billiton's WAIO exploration business. General tasks include managing relationship with labs, negotiating laboratory contracts, audits, analysis of QAQC trends and implementing improvements to the sampling protocol, including evaluation of alternative analytical techniques such has hand-held XRF.Research activities include a study of material heterogeneity using the Segregation Free Analysis method after R. Brownfields iron ore exploration in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Responsible for overseeing rig operations on site (reverse circulation and diamond core), logging rc samples and core, correlating stratigraphy and analyzing geochemical data. The two-year graduate program offers comprehensive training across all fields of the geosciences including mapping, geochemistry, geophysics, ArcGIS,and 3D modelling softwares, in addition to leadership, occupational health and safety and contractor management training.Cap-stone project involved modelling channel iron deposits using a combination of GoCAD and Leapfrog 3D modelling software.
