Retired from Union as Assistant Superintendent due to physicians and State Board of Health ignorance about my disease. My former physician didn’t interpret test correctly. Another Lyme patient died.. Willing to facilitate groups going through substantive change by discussing my experience, comparing, brainstorming. Also willing to speak to groups about dangerous diseases formerly associated with tick bite, but now associated with mosquito bites and family pet’s flea bites.

I was Assistant Superintendent when I retired in 2006. I began working at Union in 1998 as a Director of Elementary Curriculum. This was a misleading title because in addition to supervising all elementary Principals and Assistant Principals, I also supervised District Fine Arts, Gifted and Talented Programs, Media Specialists, District Title One Program and District Professional Development.Prior to that I was Director of HR for Ponca City Schools and a former Elementary Principal at a Title One school for 6 years. Before I became an administrator I taught elementary music for 10 years. When I was an elementary teacher at Fort Smith, AR Public Schools I was the Lead Teacher and developed a strong interest in effective practices for teaching and learning of young learners. My excellent experience at Ft. Smith, led to my desire to expand my role into administration. We moved to Ponca City, OK, where I continued teaching while pursuing an earned doctorate in Leadership, Human Resources with a specialization in school, non profit law.

I gave my professional life to the education of young learners, always reading a variety of topics to improve. I taught for 10 years before serving as principal for 6. Ithen moved to HR Director in the same district. I sought a competitive move to an innovative district. I became Director of Curriculum, teaching, learning for all elementary schools, then Assistant Superintendent. I also supervised PreK-12 programs for Fine Arts, Media Specialists, Counselors, Title One Federal Program, Staff Development, State Textbooks and learning materials. I authored the Brief that resulted in the innovative model Community Schools. I taught at medical school to stop the systematic ignorance re tick, mosquito, and flea bites. I was cofounder of OKLyme Support Group. I am currently retired, but would consider consulting on teaching/learning design, how to successfully lead for comprehensive change.and the increased danger of tick, mosquito, and flea borne diseases, Lyme, Bartonella, and Babesia, as well as newer tick borne diseases all devastating to brains and bodies.

My experience has ranged from Band Director to Assistant Superintendent. I was a band director 1 yr, a music teacher for 10 ursine 3 districts, a principal 6 yrs, Director 5 yrs and Assistant Superintendent 2 yrs. My proudest achievement, besides earning my Doc7in Administration was to lead my first school through curriculum alignment. My most challenging achievement was to lead over 5,000 teachers and principals through a fundamental change of who taught what when, the books, materials used by all schools, monthly curriculum assessments to change teaching, culminating in state assessments. Over 5 yrs, we statistically improved student achievement every year for all children substantially.
