I was responsible for the administration of Streets Ahead. Targeting children aged four to 12, Streets Ahead aimed to create environments that increased children’s active travel and independent mobility in all aspects of their local community life, with a focus on travelling to and from school. Streets Ahead involved six local councils, who in facing the many challenges of the unique characteristics of their areas, used a great diversity of approaches and projects to make important gains, including having positive, significant impact on their own awareness and understanding of active travel.

I led the Melbourne research component of the WHO Global Age-Friendly Cities Project, undertaken in thirty-three cities around the world. I was as project manager of the Mental Health Indicators and Measure resource. In collaboration with VicHealth, and working under the guidance of Prof. Steve Zubrick, I compiled a toolkit of indicators and measures for professional evaluators to assess the progress of their research programs at the individual, organisational and community level against the intermediate outcomes of VicHealth’s Mental Health Promotion Framework.

Supervised by Alex Kalache and Ruth Finkelstein, Healthy Ageing team, Health Policy Unit Led the development of Ageing in a foreign land: An international protocol to investigate the impact of ageing on migrants
