I am pursuing a research career that utilizes novel technology to assess and intervene on complex health behaviors, including substance use. I currently serve as a PI for an R21 (NIDA) utilizing mHealth technology and qualitative interviews to gain insight into vape pod use behaviors among young adults with symptoms of depression and anxiety. Recently served as Consortium PI for an Administrative Supplement (NCI) that investigated marijuana vaping use behaviors among young adults in light of the e-cigarette, or vaping-associated lung injury epidemic. Responsibilities included grant writing, measurement development, survey data analysis, conducting qualitative interviews, and analyzing qualitative data using NVIVO.General job duties include grant writing, manuscript publication, data analysis, and dissemination of research findings

Served as a NCI postdoctoral fellow gaining additional experience in cancer control and prevention. Analyzed data from 2 large R01 studies; data analyses included regression models with survey weights, mixed effects logistic regression, survival analyses, among others.Applied for a mentored K01 award in Tobacco Regulatory Science.

Worked as a postdoctoral fellow for the Texas Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science on youth and young adults (TCORS). Through my postdoc position, I served as a Co-Investigator for a pilot project investigating e-cigarette use behaviors in young adults using Ecological Momentary Assessment.Applied for and received an internal pilot project that assessed attitudes and perceptions of e-cigarette use among college students. The findings were then used to develop health communication ads aimed at correcting misperceptions about the safety of e-cigarette products.

Researched issues related to childhood obesity prevention through the implementation of physical activity programs in elementary schools.

Worked as a graduate assistant for a biostatistics professor. Responsible for creating documents for the Fall 2011 semester, including: homework assignments, syllabi, answer keys, etc.

Collected data on levels of physical activity demonstrated by third grade students in the Austin area.

Responsible for recruiting, training, and organizing volunteers in Boulder County for the Campaign for Change. Managed the front desk, trained volunteers on voter registration, phone banking, and canvassing. Also responsible for managing the Boulder campus office during “Get Out the Vote.” Responsible for managing phone bank and canvass volunteers, poll checkers, and runners during the four days leading up to November 4th.

Responsible for setting up a campaign office, recruiting and mobilizing volunteers, reaching out to local political officials, organizing campaign and surrogate events, and overseeing “Get Out the Vote” efforts.
