After 8 years as a master's level clinician, Kathleen has returned to her roots in the arts working as a documentary filmmaker. Her work has been honored with the George Foster Peabody Award, the Dupont-Columbia Award for Investigative Reporting, the Environmental Media Award, 2 Emmy Awards and many others. She has 27 years producing, directing and writing documentary films and television programs. Kathleen also continues to provide mental health therapy to clients virtually as a private practice psychotherapist specializing in trauma and addiction recovery using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Based Meditation treatments (MBSR) for clients who have experienced trauma.Previously, Kathleen was with the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute in Washington, D.C. counseling patients working to get listed and to receive organ transplants. Extensive volunteer experience with the Annapolis Film Festival and with Women in Film and Video (WIFV) Washington, D.C. Chapter among others.
