About Kat Farrugia

I believe the arts and creativity are for everyone and that culture and arts start from the ground up in our communities. I spearheaded the design and curation of an international study arts and creative program with a focus on creativity. As a founding member of the Inner West Creative Network, the largest creative member-based non-profit organisation in the Inner West of Sydney, I support creatives in developing sustainable careers and enriching the community.I have served on the Arts and Cultural Advisory Committee for the Inner West Council, contributing to strategies and policies for cultural development. One of my biggest achievements was working within a team on Parallel Parks, a bold initiative with a big vision: to make the world's national parks accessible to all through Virtual Reality (VR). This project won the Parks & Leisure Award for Best Use of Technology in 2018.
