Advisor to Generic Pharmaceutical AssociationAs the former President and CEO of the Generic Pharmaceutical Association (GPhA), Kathleen currently advises the trade association. Seventy-four percent of all U.S. prescriptions are now filled with generic medicines, saving the nation's health care system one billion dollars every three days. Since she assumed the helm of GPhA in April of 2002, the association has established a strong presence in the halls of Congress and in state capitols across the country by working to increase consumer access to safe, effective and affordable generics. Ms. Jaeger has testified regularly before Congress on issues impacting the generic industry, and has worked with numerous organizations that are committed to improving health care and reducing healthcare costs for consumers in the United States and abroad. Ms. Jaeger also is frequently quoted in the media and has appeared on many news programs over the years. Prior to joining GPhA, Ms. Jaeger was a Partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP, where she served as the national practice leader of its FDA Practice Group. Ms. Jaeger also was a Partner with the law firm of McKenna & Cuneo L.L.P, and served as chairperson of the Food and Drug Practice group as well as on several recruitment and marketing committees. Ms. Jaeger’s roots in promoting consumer access to affordable medicines stem from working in her father’s family-owned community pharmacy. She received her B.S. in Pharmacy with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island and her J.D. from Catholic University Law School.
